Carr returns for WP

Nizaam Carr will make his first Currie Cup appearance for Western Province this season against the Pumas at Newlands on Saturday.

The flank has recovered from a long-term shoulder injury and will start at openside ahead of Rynhardt Elstadt, while Stefan Willemse was selected to replace Jurie van Vuuren at blindside.

The only other change to the pack sees prop Alistair Vermaak come in for JC Janse van Rensburg at loosehead.

In the back division, a hip-pointer injury will keep Jano Vermaak sidelined this week with Godlen Masimla starting at scrumhalf. Huw Jones returns from injury to take his spot in midfield ahead of Johnny Kotze.
