Carter & Co to face anti-doping panel

Racing 92 trio Dan Carter, Joe Rokocoko and Juan Imhoff have been asked to appear before the French Anti-Doping Agency for the use of corticosteroids.

The two former All Blacks and Argentina winger Juan Imhoff tested positive after the Top 14 final last season, before being cleared in October, along with the club’s medical staff.

But Anti-Doping Agency president Bruno Genevois told AFP the dossier will be reviewed and that a possible revision of the decision to clear them can be made by the FFR’s medical commision.

FFR president Bernard Laporte played down the significance of the players appearing before the Agency.

'It’s not because they think there’s a fault,' Laporte said. 'On the contrary, the more transparency there is, the better. They’re doing their job, they have the right to check. You can’t be scared of that. At Toulon, we were tested six times in one year.

'We have nothing to hide. They’ll get to the bottom of things. They want to delve deeper, end of story. If they do it, it’s because they have their reason.'
