Clermont maul Munster

Clermont continue to top Pool 1 in the European Champions Cup following their 26-19 win against Munster on Sunday.

Clermont dominated for much of the first half, and received due reward for that dominance before the break. Winger Noa Nakaitaci crashed over after a sustained period of pressure. This score ensured that Clermont took a 15-6 lead to the change room.

Munster continued to struggle in the second stanza. Their chances of a comeback were shattered after fullback Felix Jones received a yellow card.

The result marks Clermont's second consecutive win against Munster having won 16-9 at Thomond Park. They are now firmly in control at the top of Pool 1.

In other matches played on Sunday, London Wasps scored a 44-17 bonus-point victory against Castres at Adams Park. The English club scored seven tries in all, and have moved to third position on the Pool 2 log.

Over in Wales, Scarlets won their Pool 3 battle against Ulster by 22-13.
