Cronjé at 10 for Kings

Kings coach Deon Davids has picked Lionel Cronjé at flyhalf for Saturday's Super Rugby match against the Jaguares in Port Elizabeth.

The 27-year-old will run out for his fourth Super Rugby franchise, having completed stints at the Stormers, Brumbies and Sharks. Another ex-Stormers player, Louis Schreuder, will play scrumhalf in the new-look Kings backline, which also includes Waylon Murray and Malcolm Jaer.

In the pack, former Super Rugby winner Ross Geldenhuys starts at tighthead prop. Meanwhile, star flank Chris Cloete has been named on the bench, because of the return to play protocols due to concussion.

'We’ve taken precautionary measures in terms of Chris’ injury,' Davids said. 'We’re happy with the way that he recovered from the knock he got last week. He’s been doing very well in the contact sessions and it’s very important that we get him back to his best as soon as possible.'
