Etzebeth set for Japanese stint

Eben Etzebeth is expected to join Handré Pollard at the NTT-Docomo Red Hurricanes after the World Cup.

The Vodacom Bulls confirmed on Tuesday that Pollard had been given clearance to ply his trade in Japan on a three-month deal (from 1 November 2015 to 31 January 2016) and would return to Loftus in time for the start of the Super Rugby season.

Etzebeth, whose contract with Western Province expires at the end of the 2016 season, would have a similar deal.

Meanwhile, the Kintetsu Liners have confirmed the signings of Pierre Spies and Damian de Allende.

Spies will spend a season in the Japan Top League before joining Jake White's Montpellier in February, with De Allende joining the club after the World Cup and then returning to play for the Stormers.
