Ireland rise in rankings

Ireland have moved up to third place in the World Rugby rankings after their 24-9 victory over France in Cardiff.

The result, which saw Ireland top Pool D, earned them 1.34 ratings points, and took them above Wales and the Springboks.

The Boks are now fifth, with the Wallabies and All Blacks comfortably holding down the top two spots.

As a result of their loss, France have dropped one place to seventh, while Japan's third win of the World Cup has taken them into the top 10.
