Kenya seal Olympic spot

Kenya qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics with a last-gasp 21-17 win over Zimbabwe in the final of the African regional qualifier in Johannesburg.

Zimbabwe rattled their more illustrious opponents, scoring two first-half tries for a deserved 12-7 lead at the break. Kenya struck back at the restart via a self-converted try by Collins Injera, but their joy was short-lived as Zimbabwe regained the lead with their third try.

Kenya, a core team on the sevens circuit, refused to give up and with time running out, Dennis Ombachi ran 65m and handed off a would-be-tackler to score the all-importmant try to secure Kenya's partipication at the Olympics.

Zimbabwe beat Nigeria (twice), Zambia, Uganda and Morocco to book their place in the final, while Kenya defeated Madagascar (twice), Mauritius, Senegal and Tunisia.
