Lions suffer double blow

Lions backs Andries Coetzee and Alwyn Hollenbach are set to miss the game against the Stormers this Saturday.

Coetzee re-injured his troublesome left knee against the Sharks at Ellis Park last Saturday. Hollenbach cut his lip in the same match and was forced to undergo surgery, after he replaced wing Deon van Rensburg who also suffered a knee injury.

This leaves Lions coach Johan Ackermann with a dilemma in the back division. Marnitz Boshoff could shift to fullback, with Elton Jantjies slotting in at flyhalf.

The other option is to replace Coetzee with either Chrysander Botha, Coenie van Wyk or Ruhan Nel.

The good news is that Van Rensburg's knee is on the mend and the veteran wing will be available for selection.
