South African prop Justin Ackerman is set to join French club Montpellier in order to provide cover for the injured Antoine Guillamon.

Guillamon is set to be sidelined for an extended period after undergoing a groin operation, which has created an opportunity for Ackermann, who has previously played for Western Province, the Golden Lions and the Kings.

The 25-year-old could even make his debut in Friday's European Champions Cup clash against the Glasgow Warriors.
