Paige boost for Bulls

Rudy Paige has passed a concussion test and will be available for the Blue Bulls' Currie Cup semi-final against Western Province on Saturday.

Paige sustained a head knock during South Africa's Test against the Wallabies at Loftus a fortnight ago, which ruled him out of the match against New Zealand the following week.

Incidentally, his replacement Piet van Zyl suffered a similar fate while with the Boks.

There was concern that both Bulls scrumhalves will miss the playoff against WP, but on Tuesday Paige was declared fit for duty.

'I've never been involved in a Currie Cup final and it's something I would like to accomplish,' he commented. 'The closest I came to it was with the Lions in 2011, but I was not in the team.'

Van Zyl, however, sat on the sidelines during training on Tuesday, with coach Nollis Marais confirming a decision on his participation will be made on Wednesday.
