Pro14 players bolster Free State
- 12 Oct 2017
The Free State Cheetahs have named a strengthened starting lineup for Saturday’s Currie Cup match against the Golden Lions in Johannesburg.
With the Pro14 currently on a two-week break, 14 players who represented the Cheetahs in that competition have been redeployed to the Free State side for their must-win game against the Golden Lions.
In addition, the inclusion of Raymond Rhule at fullback means coach Rory Duncan will field a completely new-look side, compared to the one that lost to the Blue Bulls six days ago.
Free State Cheetahs – 15 Raymond Rhule, 14 Rosko Specman, 13 Nico Lee, 12 William Small-Smith, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Ernst Stapelberg, 9 Tian Meyer, 8 Oupa Mohoje, 7 Henco Venter, 6 Paul Schoeman, 5 Reniel Hugo, 4 Justin Basson, 3 Johan Coetzee, 2 Torsten van Jaarsveld (c), 1 Charles Marais.
