Profits continue to grow

THE MONEY MAN continues to rake in the profit as his banker bet lands to take his season record to 7-3.

It was another interesting round of Vodacom Super Rugby with another three shock results – the Waratahs, Reds and Rebels all defying the odds and posting victories. The most impressive was the Rebels' win over the Brumbies, but I did say I felt the Brumbies were highly overrated.

Many Sharks fans will say the Bulls pulled off an upset too, but we know better. I find amusement in the uneducated who celebrate my losses but don’t factor in the obvious; which is I don’t bet on every game and my banker (my main bet of the week) record is 7-3. That stat is the most important because on my selections I went 4-5 overall including two bets on my banker and an accumulator.

Yet this week anyone who bet as I did would have walked away with another R1,000 profit, which is all that matters. SuperBru is a great game and I enjoy it, but it is like playing Vodacom Cup rugby as opposed to international rugby. The pressure is immense playing the latter and separates the men from the boys or, to be more politically correct, the women from the girls.

The R5,000 SA Rugby magazine gave me has now turned into R19,409. This will continue to grow as we pick off the bets the bookies get wrong.

Round 11 is coming up and it's time to direct my analytics to another tough week by pricing up games myself and looking for obvious opportunities. Last week the two that stood out were the Bulls and Rebels as being incorrectly priced and guess what, we won on both.

Chiefs (-12.5) vs Force (+12.5)

Brumbies (+1.5) vs Highlanders (-1.5)

Crusaders (-5.5) vs Blues (+5.5)

Waratahs (-6.5) vs Rebels (+6.5)

Lions (-5.5) vs Cheetahs(+5.5)

Stormers (-2.5) vs Bulls(+2.5)

Again these are my prices and are not official. Let's see how www.wsb.co.za prices these games on Tuesday.

The pick of the week from a viewing point of view has to be the Stormers-Bulls match at Newlands. I’ll be at that game but I'm not sure I will be betting on it – you can flip a coin as far as I am concerned.

As for the bet of the week, I can guarantee the Sharks won't lose this weekend.
