Wales lose Lions duo to injury
- 21 Nov 2017
Wales have been dealt a considerable blow with backs Liam Williams and Alex Cuthbert ruled out of Saturday’s Test against the All Blacks.
Coach Warren Gatland confirmed on Tuesday that the pair will sit out the match, but it remains unclear whether they will be fit in time for Wales' Test against the Springboks the following weekend.
Williams sustained an abdominal injury in Wales’ 13-6 win against Georgia, while Cuthbert picked up a calf strain.
Both players returned to their clubs – Saracens and the Cardiff Blues – after being released from the Test squad.
