Gerbrandt Grobler has received a two-year ban after testing positive for an anabolic steroid.

According to Die Burger, the test was done last October during the Currie Cup.

When Grobler was informed of the result, he admitted his guilt and made a settlement agreement with the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport. He therefore gave up the right to have a hearing.

WP Rugby has cited 'personal reasons' for Grobler's recent absence.
