The four nominees are:

WARREN WHITELEY
The Lions No 8 made more tackles (15) and metres with ball in hand (40) than any of his team-mates against the Chiefs in Hamilton.

SCHALK BURGER
Burger produced his most compelling performance of the year to inspire the Stormers to victory against the Highlanders at Newlands. The flanker was colossal and he matched physicality with the softest of touches.

DAMIAN DE ALLENDE
Apart from showcasing his speed with a brilliant score towards the end of the first half at Newlands, De Allende dominated each and every collision over the course of the game, and thus provided his team with the necessary momentum.

WILLIE LE ROUX
Le Roux thrived in such an open game at Loftus, posing a threat every time he touched the ball. He gained 66m with six carries, second only to Johann Sadie's 109m, which included an intercept try.
