All Blacks captain Ardie Savea’s Super Rugby future has finally been settled.
According to the New Zealand Herald, Savea will be linking up with the Blues on a one-season deal. The 32-year-old had been without a club since Moana Pasifika folded earlier this year.
Savea is set to remain in Auckland as he builds towards the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
The All Blacks captain had reportedly been negotiating with the Blues since early July, with the NZ Rugby component of his Super Rugby deal and the timing of the announcement delaying confirmation.

His move to the Blues comes after he returned home early from the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour in South Africa with a dislocated shoulder that ended his season.
Once recovered, Savea will add experience to a Blues loose-forward group that includes All Black Anton Segner, Malachi Wrampling, Torian Barnes and Che Clark.
His arrival will also help offset the departures of former All Blacks Dalton Papali’i and Hoskins Sotutu, who both moved to overseas clubs in July.
