Vodacom Bulls star and Springbok world champion Kurt-Lee Arendse is reportedly considering a permanent move to Japanese club rugby.
According to Rapport, the 28-year-old speedster is in advanced talks regarding an early release from his contract at the Bulls, which currently runs until 2026.
Arendse, who joined the Sagamihara DynaBoars on a sabbatical in December, has thrived in Japan Rugby League One, scoring seven tries in 12 matches.

Should negotiations prove fruitful, the Bok winger’s 25 October clash against Benetton in the Vodacom URC could mark his final Bulls outing.
Rapport‘s sources indicate that the 24-Test Arendse’s next appearance in the Republic will likely be during the Boks’ mid-year matches rather than the Bulls’ URC playoff push.
However, CEO Edgar Rathbone told Netwerk24 that the Bulls have not received a request from Arendse’s representatives on the matter, and hope to welcome him back before the URC’s 25 April registration cut-off.
“We are currently negotiating with his agent and team about it. It will only be possible [for Arendse to return soon] if the Dynaboars are certain they do not have to play in a relegation game,” Rathbone said.
Jake White’s charges are currently third on the standings with four rounds left of the league campaign.
