Blitzboks speedster Rosco Speckman will join the Cheetahs’ Super Rugby squad after the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Speckman is recovering from a hamstring injury, but is on course to regain full fitness and to rejoin the Blitzboks ahead of the Paris Sevens on 13-14 May and the London Sevens on 20-21 May.
After the completion of the sevens season, Speckman will link up with the Cheetahs squad for the remainder of the Super Rugby season.
According to Rapport newspaper, Speckman is one of three backline players who will join the Bloemfontein-based side, despite the uncertainty surrounding the Cheetahs’ Super Rugby future. The other two are Kings duo Makazole Mapimpi and Malcolm Jaer, with Mapimpi already believed to have agreed a deal with the Cheetahs.
