Ryan Kankowski has been ruled out of the Canada leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series due to an ankle injury.
The 30-year-old shrugged off a stomach ailment before being named in the initial 12-man playing squad in Vancouver, but hurt his ankle during training on Thursday which will keep him sidelined this weekend.
Meanwhile, Chris Dry will play in his 50th tournament since making his debut in the 2009-10 season at the Adelaide Sevens in Australia. Dry has scored 70 tries to date for the Springbok Sevens team.
The Blitzboks face Scotland in the opening match at 19:30 on Saturday, followed by matches against Brazilia (23:06) and Argentina (03:16) on Sunday.
