Mohoje out of third Test

Springbok flank Oupa Mohoje will be sidelined for at least a week after sustaining a concussion in the second Test against France. JON CARDINELLI in Durban reports.

Mohoje collided with France No 8 Louis Picamoles in the 13th minute of the Test at Kings Park on Saturday. The medical staff at the ground took their time stabilising the player before using a motorised cart to transport him from the field.

After the game, Bok coach Allister Coetzee confirmed that Mohoje had sustained a concussion. The Bok blindside will be sidelined for at least a week, and will not be available for the next game against France at Ellis Park.

REPORT: Kolisi powers Boks to series win

Jesse Kriel sustained a concussion in the first Test and was thus unavailable for the second. The Bok medical team should confirm whether the centre will be available for the final game of the series in the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, Coetzee remains hopeful that flyhalf Handré Pollard will get some game time for the SA A side in the match against the French Barbarians next week. Pollard hasn’t played a Test for the Boks since late 2015 due to injuries.
