SARugbymag.co.za chats to Paarl Boys' 1st XV coach Sean Erasmus about the upcoming season.

How many of last year’s 1st XV players are still in the squad?
Six return this year.

What has been your main focus in preparing for this season?
The basics and getting fit.

Who are the key players in your squad?
Every player is key to the success of the team and we hope that the more experienced players will take the leadership role in that success.

Who will be your toughest opposition this year?
Our fixture list is a tough one once again; local derbies are always the toughest.

What lessons have you learned from last season?
It is my first season as head coach at Paarl Boys'. I feel it's always important to be completely prepared and not underestimate any team.

What are your goals for the 2014 season?
To play a great brand of rugby and to improve individual players so, in turn, have a better team performance.
