Speedster Canan Moodie says the Springboks will take plenty of confidence from a four-tries-to-nil victory at Murrayfield into their clash against England on Saturday.
Moodie believes Sunday’s commanding 32-15 win over Scotland provides the perfect springboard for the Boks’ second match of a three-Test UK tour.
Makazole Mapimpi grabbed a brace in Edinburgh while Thomas du Toit and Jasper Wiese also dotted down in a clinical display of finishing power by the world champions.
“It was a good win for us, in our first game on tour. I haven’t played for five weeks now so it’s good to get a win,” said Moodie, who made his Murrayfield debut in front of a vibrant crowd.
The Scots, despite landing five penalties and enjoying a strong third-quarter surge, couldn’t breach the resolute Bok defence.

Man of the Match Eben Etzebeth led a remorseless green wall that repeatedly turned over Scottish possession deep in the 22.
“My first game here, I was very excited to play at Murrayfield. Ja, four tries [for us] and we didn’t leak one so we’re happy about that,” Moodie reflected.
The 21-year-old winger was particularly moved by the atmosphere: “Another bucket list venue ticked off for me; a very special atmosphere and a lot of South Africans coming out to support us. A special night, and we got the win.”
Looking ahead to Saturday’s showdown in London, Moodie acknowledged the quick turnaround but exuded confidence: “A short turnaround, just six days but I do think we take a lot of confidence out of [Sunday’s win].
“It was an especially tough first half but we managed to get a win and score four tries.”
