The Stormers will welcome back lock Ruan Botha for the match against the Chiefs at Newlands on Saturday.

Botha missed the 29-13 win over the Sharks at the weekend with a mild concussion suffered against the Blues, but is in the frame for a return to the starting XV this weekend.

His return is a timeous one, with Eben Etzebeth struggling with a shoulder injury sustained against the Sharks. A call on his participation, along with that of Scarra Ntubeni (shoulder), will be made later this week.

Fellow lock Jurie van Vuuren has been cleared to return to action, as has wing Kobus van Wyk, who has missed the opening few weeks of the season with a calf strain.

However, there was bad news regarding utility back Jaco Taute, who is struggling to overcome a knee injury and remains a doubt for the Stormers' tour of Australasia.
