Brannas gives thumbs up

Deon Fourie has given an update on his injury situation after the veteran Springbok and Stormers forward underwent surgery on a broken tibia.

The 38-year-old is ruled out for the remainder of the season after breaking his leg in a Vodacom URC win over Connacht at Cape Town Stadium last week.

He gave an update on his condition on social media, posting that the operation was successful as he now recovers before undergoing his rehab work.

Stormers director of rugby John Dobson, during a team announcement conference for Saturday’s round 16 clash against Benetton in Cape Town, was upbeat about Fourie’s comeback.

“It’s great… We got really lucky with his break – clean break, back for next season,” Dobson said.
