Bulls vs Pumas given Saturday afternoon kick-off

The Vodacom Bulls have confirmed that their final Super Rugby Unlocked match against the Pumas will kick off at 2pm in Pretoria on Saturday.

The seventh and final round of Super Rugby Unlocked has been impacted by Covid-19 protocols as Friday’s match between the Bulls and Pumas was postponed, while Saturday’s contest between the Sharks and Stormers in Durban was called off.

The Bulls’ match against the Pumas – originally scheduled for Friday evening in Pretoria – was pushed back until Saturday, 21 November for player-welfare reasons.

The Pumas squad – which returned several positive tests last week – will be retested on Thursday. The results will be known on Friday, allowing time for a training session after 10 days in isolation before meeting the Bulls on Saturday.

No decision has been made about the points allocation from the Sharks vs Stormers match, but if they are awarded two log points each, the Bulls will be crowned as Super Rugby Unlocked champions. If this is the case, the Bulls can afford to lose Saturday’s match against the Pumas by 52 points and still be crowned champions.

Jake White’s team currently lead the standings on 19 points, with a positive differential of 70 points, while the Stormers and Sharks both trail in second and third place, respectively, with both on 17 points.
