Bulls set for fortnight of self-isolation

The Vodacom Bulls’ entire touring group will go into self-isolation for 14 days as a precaution on the team’s return from Australia.

The Bulls suffered a defeat to the Reds in Brisbane on Saturday in their first game on tour, and were next scheduled to face the Waratahs before heading to New Zealand.

However, following the decision from Sanzaar that Vodacom Super Rugby will be suspended indefinitely due to containment concerns surrounding the coronavirus, the Bulls are now heading home. They are expected to touch down in South Africa on Monday.

‘The entire touring group will go into self-isolation for 14 days,’ a statement released on Sunday confirmed. ‘BBCo management has also urged all the other players [Juniors and SuperSport Rugby Challenge] not to report to Loftus for regular duty until further notice.

‘The welfare and safety of our players and the public is our first priority and we will abide with the relative governing bodies and authorities.’
