Bulls snap up SA Schools coach

A key member of the national age-group coaching setup will reportedly join the Vodacom Bulls support staff for the 2025 Currie Cup campaign.

According to Rapport, James Winstanley is set to assist Bulls head coach Phiwe Nomlomo while also taking on youth development responsibilities at Loftus Versfeld.

Currently head of rugby at Kingswood College, Winstanley has substantial national experience as SA Schools and SA U18 assistant coach in 2022 and 2023, where he specialised in attack and forward play.

He has also led Elite Player Development camps for U16 and U17 players at national level.

His track record includes guiding an undefeated Border Craven Week team in 2018 that produced six SA Schools players, while the following year his squad delivered eight national schoolboy representatives.
