Kolbe in greatest back three of pro era?

Cheslin Kolbe’s performances have prompted the question as to where he would fit into one of the greatest back threes of the professional era.

Kolbe has attained elite status in world rugby following in the footsteps of illustrious, undersized hot-steppers Jason Robinson and Christian Cullen, who were celebrated for their ability to wrong-foot flailing defenders.

Robinson was the key to a sizzling counter-attack that helped England clinch the 2003 Rugby World Cup while Cullen’s breathtaking contribution to Wellington, the Hurricanes and the All Blacks is the stuff of legend.

Kolbe is in his prime and has already produced a body of work that earns him the No 14 jersey in a deadly combination with Robinson bursting up the left wing and Cullen ghosting through the line from fullback.

Does it get any better than Robinson, Kolbe and Cullen?
