Springboks and Bulls lock Lood de Jager has fully recovered from his injury and could play against Western Province at Newlands on Saturday.
De Jager has been out since early March after suffering a shoulder injury, which ruled him out for the rest of the Vodacom Super Rugby season.
However, the Springbok is set to give the Bulls a boost in their opening Currie Cup match after it was confirmed that he had recovered sufficiently.
Flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff has also fully recovered from his knee injury and will probably wear the No 10 jersey this weekend, with Handré Pollard away on Springbok duty.
Former Lions lock Andries Ferreira, whose move to the Hurricanes failed due to injury, has linked up with the Bulls squad and been involved in full training, with a call to be made on his availability later in the week.
There was bad news as it was confirmed that flank Nic de Jager tore his achilles tendon in a warm-up match against the Pumas and will be out for the remainder of the season.
