Eddie trims England squad

England coach Eddie Jones has released nine players back to their clubs ahead of their much-anticipated Test against the Springboks on Saturday.

Jones initially assembled a 34-man training group, but he cut Charlie Ewels, Ellis Genge, Teimana Harrison, Ben Morgan, Alex Goode, Mike Healy, Alex Zozowski, Semesa Rokoduguni and Henry Slade from the squad on Wednesday.

Of the 25 players retained by Jones, four are uncapped. They are Josh Beaumont, Nathan Hughes, Kyle Sinckler and Ben Te'o.

Jones will name his match 23 on Thursday, as England go in search of their first victory over the Boks in 10 years.
