The Exeter Chiefs held on to claim a historic 19-13 victory over Wasps in a fiercely-contested English Premiership final on Saturday.
Last weekend, Exeter also had to display immense fighting spirit to claim their first European crown with a thrilling 31-27 victory over Racing 92 in the Champions Cup final.
A week later that character once again came to the fore as Wasps produced a brave and gutsy performance in challenging wet-weather conditions, but it was ultimately not enough to prevent Exeter from claiming the double.
It will also be a particularly memorable week of winning for South African duo Jannes Kirsten and Jacques Vermeulen, who have been at the heart of Exeter’s gallant efforts.
