Fantasy league managers are picking the big stars ahead of the opening round of the 2014 Super Rugby season, which features four of SA's five teams.

Looking at current trends in popularity in the South Africa conference, the tried and tested names of SA rugby are well represented. The standout selection is Willie le Roux, with over a quarter of managers selecting him and also making him the most selected captain.

The Sharks, are represented by the second most popular player, Bismarck du Plessis, and also with the most selected kicker choice in Pat Lambie.

The selections point to the majority of managers favouring the two home sides in the opening round, anticipating the Cheetahs to trump the Lions and the Sharks to beat the Bulls.
