A former leading South African high-school first XV rugby coach has been charged with one count each of possessing and distributing child exploitation material in Australia.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, items were seized from an address in Mooloolaba this past Saturday that led to officers arresting the 40-year-old man.

In Australia, Dean Carelse served as Water Polo Queensland coach and was a former Sunshine Coast private-school teacher.
