Former Springbok centre Jaque Fourie has been appointed as the USA Eagles’ new defence coach.

Fourie, who has been coaching with the Force since his retirement in 2017, will begin his role in the Americas Rugby Championship where he’ll join head coach Gary Gold and staff following a highly successful 2018 campaign.

The 35-year-old also participated in coaching clinics while he played and helped the Kobe Steelers’ defence during his time there between 2011 and 2017.

‘I am excited to be a part of the USA Eagles coaching staff and team in 2019,’ Fourie said. ‘They have grown so much in the past year, and after playing in three World Cups myself, I know what a massive honour and privilege it is to be part of one of the biggest sporting events in the world. To do that with this team and as a coach will be amazing.’
