South African centre Shane Gates is among the seven players announced as additions to the Sunwolves squad for Super Rugby.
Gates, who was born in Port Elizabeth and played for the Kings between 2011 and 2016, has been plying his trade with the Shining Arcs in Japan.
The 26-year-old joins Australian flank Ben Gunter as the two new signings that the Sunwolves announced on Wednesday.
The Japanese side also confirmed that wings Hosea Saumaki and Semisi Masirewa, fullback Will Tupou, prop Alex Woonton and lock Uwe Helu will all be retained from last year’s squad.
