The Bulls will announce their new Super Rugby head coach at Loftus at 11am on Tuesday.
Former Bulls and Bok lock Victor Matfield, Kings coach Deon Davids and Blue Bulls Currie Cup coach Pote Human were on the shortlist to replace John Mitchell, who left Pretoria in September to become England’s defence coach.
Matfield was reportedly offered the job for which he had applied, but turned it down because of family reasons and the long-term security offered to him by SuperSport as a commentator/expert.
Bulls president Willem Strauss and new CEO Alfons Meyer asked Matfield to reconsider.
Whether they were successful in doing so will be revealed on Tuesday.
