2019 World Cup winner Herschel Jantjies will join Bayonne from the DHL Stormers next season, the French Top 14 club announced.
Jantjies made the last of his 25 Test appearances in August 2023 before missing out on World Cup selection, four years on from lifting the trophy.
The 28-year-old returned from a shoulder injury for the DHL Stormers in the Vodacom URC clash with Munster in Cape Town.
A stalwart for the Cape side, Jantjies has made 86 first-class appearances for the Stormers and started in the Vodacom URC final win against the Bulls in 2022.
“The South African halfback will join us from the Stormers next season for two seasons,” the Basque outfit added.
“He will bring his international experience to the club,” they added.
