Dillyn Leyds grabbed a hat-trick of tries to help La Rochelle bounce back from a second-round defeat, while Hacjivah Dayimani scored his first try for Racing 92.
– Three tries from Leyds saw La Rochelle rebound from their loss to Toulouse with a 49-25 victory over Pau. The Springbok winger scored all of his tries from crossfield kicks, taking his tally to four in three games this season.

– Defending champions Toulouse continued their unbeaten start with a hard-fought 20-11 win over Montpellier. Former Bulls wing Madosh Tambwe started for Montpellier, who suffered their second defeat of the season. A fracas broke out between Montpellier’s Scottish fullback Stuart Hogg and Toulouse’s Thomas Ramos, earning both a yellow card.

– Newly-promoted Vannes, with Anton Bresler at lock, produced the surprise result of the round by beating Lyon 30-20. Arno Botha started at No 8 for Lyon, who lost for the first time this season.
– Bordeaux sent out a statement of intent by thrashing Racing 92 in a 52-34 win, with France’s Damian Penaud scoring a hat-trick. Hacjivah Dayimani had the last say of the match, scoring his first try in his second start in the 79th minute.

– Stade Francais’ stuttering start to the season continued in a 14-10 loss at home against Toulon. Former Sharks lock JJ van der Mescht and centre Jeremy Ward started for the Parisians in their second defeat of the season.
