Lions lose star centre

Harold Vorster is set to miss the rest of the season after injuring anterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee.

The 22-year-old, who sustained the injury against the Chiefs last Saturday, will see a specialist next Tuesday but is expected to be ruled out for eight months.

Meanwhile, loose forward Fabian Booysen, who has a frontal sinus fracture, will also see a specialist next Tuesday to arrange a reconstruction, and is expected to be out for about six weeks.

The Lions will also be without Lionel Mapoe for Saturday's match against the Highlanders in Dunedin after the centre returned home to be with his girlfriend for the birth of their baby. Jacques Nel has flown over to New Zealand as a replacement.
