Munster have ruled out a move for Malcolm Marx, after speculation that the Irish province would table a mega-money deal to sign the Springbok hooker from Japan.
Rumours have been floating around recently that Munster had packaged a “sizeable deal” to persuade Marx to leave Japan for Ireland.

However, in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, the club’s defence coach Denis Leamy poured cold water on any potential move for the World Cup winner.
“I’d like to work with Malcolm Marx, but there’s nothing in it,” Leamy said, when asked about the reports.
“There’s nothing there for us. No, that’s not something that’s happening, to be as clear about that as I can.
“Look, obviously we look in different areas of the market but that’s not a conversation that’s ongoing.”

Marx currently plays for the Kubota Spears, the club he joined after spending the previous season with Japan League One rivals NTT Shining Arcs. The 28-year-old has been in Japan since leaving the Lions in 2019.
