Harumichi Tatekawa will lead the Sunwolves against the Stormers in Singapore on Saturday.
Regular skipper Shota Horie is due for a rest and has moved to the bench, with Takeshi Kizu set to earn his first start.
The only change to the backline sees Atsushi Hiwasa starting at scrumhalf in place of Kaito Shigeno, while up front, lock Timothy Bond replaces Hitoshi Ono.
