SARugbymag.co.za readers had their say and voted Ox Nche as the standout Springbok in a narrow defeat to Ireland on Saturday.
In a poll run after the final whistle, 35.77% decided that the burly prop had the most telling influence for the men in green and gold in Durban, ahead of three-Test playmaker Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and two-time Bok world champion Handre Pollard.
Called “the most destructive loosehead in the world” after his influential 2023 World Cup semi-final performance, Nche was named Man of the Match at Kings Park following his monstrous outing in the scrums against the Irish.

However, the front-row powerhouse was pushed by Feinberg-Mngomezulu (35.59%), who showed that he has the aptitude for Test rugby coming off the bench early for veteran fullback Willie le Roux.
Yet, 9.61% felt Pollard’s perfect eight penalties from the kicking tee was worthy of more praise.
