Before kick-off at Ellis Park last Saturday, the 60,000-strong crowd fell eerily silent as the All Blacks laid down the challenge following a request from Erasmus. In the past, chants of ‘Olé! Olé! Olé!’ would have drowned out the haka.

Ahead of the second Test in Cape Town, the Bok coach has again called for silence during the haka.
“If you’re going to make a noise while they do it, it’s just stupid,” he said.
