Several players stood out for the Springboks during a memorable 2025 Test campaign, but who was the best?
Loosehead prop Ox Nche, hooker Malcolm Marx and flank Pieter-Steph du Toit were all nominated for the 2025 World Rugby Player of the Year, won by Marx.
All three were named in World Rugby’s Dream Team for 2025 along with tighthead prop Thomas du Toit, flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and winger Cheslin Kolbe.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu was named SA Players’ Player of the Year, for which utility back Damian Willemse was also nominated, and formed a successful halfback partnership with Cobus Reinach.
Ethan Hooker‘s impactful debut international season on the wing was acknowledged with a nomination for the World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year award.
