Pollard rubbishes rumours of Montpellier exit

Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard has dismissed rumours from England linking him with a move to Premiership side Bath at the end of the season.

A report in The Rugby Paper claimed that Pollard was the main target for Bath, despite the 2019 World Cup winner having only joined Montpellier last year.

The report claimed that Bath is on the hunt for a Test-quality flyhalf and are looking at both Pollard and his Montpellier teammate, Johan Goosen, as potential signings.

However, during a media conference launching the new Top 14 season, Pollard denied the reports and outlined that he is still very happy in France.

‘That is false news. I’ve still got two years left in Montpellier and I’m very happy here and I’m hoping to stay even longer,’ the 26-year-old said.

‘It is very frustrating but it happens a lot. You can’t let it get to you. Personally I’m really happy here, my wife’s happy here, I’m really enjoying it here, so there’s none of that going on.’
