Potgieter heading back to Bulls

Jacques Potgieter has left the Sharks to join the Bulls with immediate effect.

The Sharks confirmed on Wednesday that Potgieter would be heading to the Bulls for the remainder of the season, with the former Springbok having yet to play a game for the Durban-based side as the result of an ankle injury.

'Injuries have unfortunately curtailed his Super Rugby endeavours in 2016, which has prevented him from featuring for the Sharks,' Sharks CEO John Smit commented. 'This move to Gauteng will provide greater opportunities for him and his fiancée, who are set to tie the knot shortly.'

SARugbymag.co.za has received confirmation of Potgieter's move and also learned that contract extensions will be offered to Willie le Roux and the Du Preez brothers, Jean-Luc and Dan, all of whom have been linked to overseas clubs.

Le Roux has apparently received an offer from Wasps, while Toulon are believed to be chasing the signature of the Du Preez twins, but the Sharks are determined to retain the services of the trio.
