Standard published on January 1, 2019

Sarel Pretorius could make his long-awaited Kings debut against Edinburgh at Murrayfield on Saturday.

The 34-year-old scrumhalf joined the Kings from the Newport-based Dragons last March, but has not yet played for them because of a foot injury sustained in training.

Pretorius has been included in the Kings’ 25-man squad for their short Pro14 tour. The other No 9s are Stefan Ungerer and Poerie van Rooyen.

The Kings are currently bottom of Conference B, having lost nine of their 10 matches.

Kings squad:

Forwards: Nicolaas Oosthuizen, Alulutho Tshakweni, Pieter Scholtz, Luvuyo Pupuma, Tango Balekile, Alandre van Rooyen, Michael Willemse, Lubabalo Mtyanda, Stephan Greeff, John-Charles Astle, Andries van Schalkwyk, Cyril-John Velleman, Martinus Burger, Lerm Ruaan.

Backs: Stefan Ungerer, Rudi van Rooyen, Sarel Pretorius, Martin du Toit, Ntabeni Dukisa, Tertius Kruger, Harlon Klaasen, Berton Klaasen, Yaw Penxe, Michael Makase, Masixole Banda.
