The Pumas beat the Blue Bulls 25-13 in round six of the Currie Cup qualifiers, while there were also wins for Boland, Border and the Valke on Friday.
The Pumas trailed 10-0 after 26 minutes, but fought back to lead 15-13 at half-time, before going on to close out the match at Loftus.
The Bulls were first to score through centre Marquit September, with flyhalf Joshua Stander kicking the conversion and then slotting a penalty goal.
The Pumas hit back with three tries in five minutes through hooker Frankie Herne, scrumhalf Reynier van Rooyen and wing Marcello Sampson to take a five-point lead. Stander kicked another penalty just before the break.
Pumas flyhalf Justin van Staden scored the first points of the second half when he slotted a penalty goal in the 54th minute.
The Bulls were unable to breach the Pumas’ defence as the visitors scored a fourth try through centre Hoffman Maritz, with Van Staden adding the extras to complete a much-needed victory. The Pumas remain in third place on the log close on the heels of Boland and Griquas.
Elsewhere on Friday, the Boland Cavaliers ran in seven tries as they beat the Griffons 56-17 after leading 20-10 at half-time at Boland Stadium.
The Leopards handed the Border Bulldogs their third defeat of the qualifiers, winning 34-22 in East London.
The SWD Eagles were upset 32-31 in George by the Valke after leading 23-21 at the break, with flyhalf Karlo Aspeling kicking 17 points for the visitors.
