Rebels ran Force off feet

The Rebels’ narrow 27-22 win over the Force was facilitated by their attacking approach, according to SARugbymag.co.za's Opta-powered stats.

Both teams did the basics well in this Aussie derby, but the Rebels bamboozled the Force defence, especially in the second half.

The Rebels made 592m compared to the Force’s 189, they beat 30 defenders to the Force’s 10 and threw 178 passes to 91 by the visitors.

In defence, the Rebels were only required to make 72 tackles, missing 10, while the Force made 120 tackles and slipped 30.

Wing Sefa Naivalu was key to the Rebels’ victory, scoring a brace while also beating seven defenders from his 76m gained and effecting two turnovers at the breakdown.
