One South African-born player has been included in the Scotland starting lineup to face Italy in a World Cup warm-up at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Head coach Gregor Townsend on Wednesday named 23-year-old Glasgow Warriors flanker Rory Darge as captain, as the Scots ramp up preparations for the tournament with the Test in Edinburgh.
There are two debutants in the match-day 23: centre Stafford McDowall and Leicester Tigers lock Cameron Henderson, who is on the bench.
